Evidence — grade E/F
No coherent therapeutic mechanism and no credible clinical evidence. Through the 1940s–50s US authorities pursued recalls, seizures and destruction orders; a Maryland district court held against Master Appliances for misbranding, finding the device neither effective nor capable of the advertised results, which ended domestic production. TWO source conflicts are carried openly, not resolved: (1) the terminal court action is dated 1950 by one account and 1951 by others, with a differing Indiana company name in one; (2) sources disagree on whether meaningful ultraviolet is emitted at all. Ozone production and the high-voltage hazard are not in dispute.
