Real quantum effects in biology exist and are well characterised. They also provide no support for macroscopic “frequency healing.” The two are separated by many orders of magnitude in scale and time.
Genuine quantum biology operates at nanometre scales and femtosecond-to-microsecond timescales — far removed from the centimetre-scale, multi-hertz, multi-millitesla regimes of commercial “energy” devices.
Avian magnetoreception (radical-pair mechanism) — cryptochrome spin dynamics over ~1 nm, ~µs coherence, ~nT–µT geomagnetic energy. No amplification pathway to a macroscopic therapeutic effect.
Photosynthetic excitonic coherence (FMO) — ~5 nm, dephased within picoseconds at room temperature. No macroscopic coherence persists.
Enzyme proton/electron tunnelling — sub-atomic (0.5–2 Å), a minor correction to classical kinetics.
The decisive numbers
A 7.83 Hz “scalar / Schumann” wave has a wavelength of roughly 38,000 km and cannot resonantly couple to a ~10 µm cell. Decoherence for a one-gram object at room temperature is on the order of 10−23 s, which makes quantum superposition irrelevant to human-scale biology. In essentially every case, the “quantum” label in alternative medicine is technobabble — an analogy borrowed from physics with no coupling to it.
This is the line the atlas draws on: the difference between a defined, dosed physical mechanism and a word borrowed from physics to dress up a claim. Source: ultraweak photon emission background (PMC4561347).
